MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State athletics department has announced its weekly award winners, naming defenders Lexi Firkins (Brockport, N.Y.) and Brendan Boles (Goshen, N.Y.) as its Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 28.
Boles had a terrific week as part of the defensive unit for the Mustang men’s lacrosse team, collecting five total ground balls and causing six turnovers in a 2-0 week.
He began the week with three ground ball pickups and two caused turnovers in limited action against Cobleskill.
On Saturday the senior put together a season best outing to play a role in the Mustangs collecting their fifth straight regular season title as he picked up two ground balls and caused four Wolf turnovers in a thrilling win over Keuka.
Boles’ efforts on the field led the Mustangs to another undefeated season at 7-0 and eighth overall regular season title. It’s his fourth as a Mustang.
The men’s team also enters the NEAC tournament as the top seed, and will open play in the semifinal round Wednesday against Cazenovia in Morrisville.
