MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College athletics department has announced its weekly award winners, naming women’s lacrosse sophomore Lexi Firkins (Brockport, N.Y.) and hunt seat rider, Marcus Livermore (Syracuse, N.Y.) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 8.

Firkins assisted Morrisville State to a 3-0 week, 2-0 within conference play, as she collected a week's total 11 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers from her defensive position. She started the week with a ground ball and three caused turnovers in an 8-7 non-league win over Canton, and followed with three ground balls and four caused turnovers in the NEAC victory over Hilbert.

On Sunday Firkins wrapped up the week with seven ground balls and five caused turnovers in a 12-6 win over Medaille, helping to keep the Mustangs undefeated in conference play. The sophomore averaged nearly 4 ground balls per game, and four caused turnovers per game on the week.

A graduate of Brockport High, Firkins is majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Amy and Jeff Firkins of Brockport.
