MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State athletics department has selected its weekly award winners, naming junior Amelia Baratier (Liverpool, N.Y.) and sophomore Daniel Sparkowski (East Meadow, N.Y.) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 7th.
Sparkowski earns Mustang Athlete of the Week accolades after serving a critical role at center back for the men’s soccer team in a 1-0 week within conference action.
The sophomore was part of a defensive unit that limited visiting Penn St. Berks to just four shots on goal, while picking up a crucial NEAC win to keep the Mustangs in second place overall in the conference standings.
The graduate of East Meadow High is majoring in criminal justice at SUNY Morrisville. He is the son of Kristen and Charles Sparkowski of East Meadow.
