MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College athletics department has announced its weekly award winners, naming lacrosse student-athletes Gianna Branca (Camillus, N.Y.) and Chad Temple (Minoa, N.Y.) it’s Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 22. 

Temple, long stick defender for the Mustangs, played a critical role in a 2-0 week as Morrisville State remained undefeated in conference play with critical wins over Cazenovia and Cobleskill.

On the week, the freshman collected seven ground balls and caused eight, while contributing an assist offensively.

He began the week with four ground ball pick-ups and five caused turnovers in a 19-5 decision over Cazenovia, before contributing three ground balls and three caused turnovers in the 20-1 win over Cobleskill, where he also assisted the first score of the second quarter off a successful clear.

Temple currently ranks eighth overall in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) in caused turnovers.

Temple is a graduate of East Syracuse-Minoa High. He is the son of Mari and Jeff Temple of Minoa.
