Sunderlage collected 14 points towards the western riding team's reserve high point team honors in the first weekend of competition on the season Sunday, behind her two blue ribbon rides across two different classes.

In the morning show, Sunderlage recorded the top ride in the intermediate I western horsemanship class, earning enough points to move up to the intermediate II division.

In her first time showing in the intermediate II horsemanship class in the afternoon, Sunderlage earned another blue ribbon place finish, topping the field of competing riders.

The senior is an equine science major at Morrisville State and is also a member of the women's volleyball team. She is the daughter of James and Sherry Sunderlage of Kingston.

Young, sophomore goaltender for the men's hockey team, recorded a .953 save percentage across two games on the weekend behind his total 81 saves as Morrisville State finished with a 0-0-2 record on the opening weekend.

In Friday night's opener on the road at Manhattanville, Young registered 40 stops, including five in the overtime period to secure the tie. He added another 41 saves on Saturday in the overtime tie with Stevenson, registering double digits across all three periods, and one in the extra time to secure the tie.

The sophomore posted a 1.85 goals against average on the weekend, in 129:35 of play.
