MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College athletics department has announced its weekly award winners, naming sophomore's Maddison Devlin (Campbell River, British Columbia) and Kevin Dennis (Bronx, N.Y.) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending Jan. 28.

Devlin led the women's hockey team to a 1-0-1 record across the series against Canton over the weekend.

The sophomore posted both scores as the Mustangs collected the come-from-behind 2-1 victory Friday, finishing with a +1 on-ice rating after putting home a power play score, and the eventual game winner minutes into the third period.

The win over Canton moved Morrisville State into second overall in the conference standings and kept the Mustangs undefeated within Colonial Hockey Conference play.

Devlin is a graduate of Earl Marriott Secondary and is majoring in liberal arts and science – humanities and social science. She is the daughter of Wendy and Vinee Devlin of Campbell River.

Dennis led the men's basketball team to two key conference wins over the week, netting an average 23.0 points per game, to go along with 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

The sophomore forward notched 21 in a 78-65 win over Keuka Tuesday in 28 minutes of action, as he shot 53.3 percent from the floor, and collected the double-double with 11 rebounds. In the same contest he dished out three assists and had a block.

He followed that with a game high 25 in the 85-67 win over previously conference unbeaten SUNY Poly, converting 10-of-12 shots from the floor (83.3%), while hitting perfect from the free throw line on all five attempts. Dennis added six rebounds and two more assists, while posting three steals and a blocked shot.

The graduate of Harry S. Truman High is majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State. He is the son of Monique Davis of the Bronx.
