MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State athletics department has selected its weekly award winners, naming junior Amelia Baratier (Liverpool, N.Y.) and sophomore Daniel Sparkowski (East Meadow, N.Y.) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 7th.

Baratier, junior outside hitter for the women's volleyball team, was a critical offensive threat for the Mustangs in their weekend sweep of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) competition against Penn St. Abington and College of St. Elizabeth.

She began Saturday's action with a weekend high 11 kills against Abington, hitting .409 at the net, while collecting eight digs to assist in the defensive efforts as the Mustangs downed the Nittany Lions 3-0.

Baratier followed with another 10 kills against St. Elizabeth in the 3-0 match sweep, adding another eight digs and hitting .334 from the outside.

Currently sitting second on the team in kills, Baratier is also ranked seventh in the conference in kills per set at 2.64 and is ninth in total kills with 161 to date on the season.
