Morrisville State athletics enjoys academic success  

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State athletics department enjoyed yet another successful spring semester in academics, complimenting their athletic success, with more than half of their intercollegiate teams earning a grade point average of a 3.0 or better.

Forty-four percent (142) of student-athletes competing for the Mustangs earned a GPA of a 3.0 or better, with 20 garnering in a perfect 4.0 on the semester.

Of those 20, five student-athletes registered a 4.0 GPA across the academic year.

The spring was highlighted by a record-setting 3.61 GPA from field hockey, followed by a 3.37 team accumulation from women's cross country.

Women's hockey recorded a 3.25, while men's golf posted a 3.19 spring GPA.

Western and hunt seat equestrian teams came in at 3.18 and 3.15, respectively, while volleyball threw in a 3.07 effort.

Men's hockey finished with a 3.04 team GPA, and men's cross country rounded out the team leaders with a 3.01 accumulation.

Across the academic year, eight of the Mustang teams achieved a 3.0, led by women's hockey who registered a 3.232 GPA across both the fall and spring semesters.

At the conclusion of the spring term, 94 were named to the Athletic Director Honor Roll, while more than 50 met the criteria to qualify for academic recognition through their respective conferences.
