Hardy, Inhaber-Courchesne advance to IHSA National Finals  

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State College's western equestrian team had two advance to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Western National Finals, held in early May, after competing at the semifinals on Saturday.

Alysha Hardy (Orange, Mass.) captured second overall in the novice western horsemanship class finals, advancing through the preliminaries that featured 16 class riders from eight different regions, before finishing second in the field of eight riders.

Lea Inhaber-Courchesne (Westborough, Mass.) also advanced through the preliminary round to the finals in the intermediate II western horsemanship class, capturing third overall in the final ride round.

Hardy and Inhaber-Courchesne advance to the National Finals, held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania May 3 – 6th. Both will be among the top 12 riders from the three semifinals at the IHSA National Championships.

In addition to the two advancing riders, Morrisville State had two other riders who advanced through the preliminary round, including Elyse Scott (Averill Park, N.Y.) who finished seventh in the intermediate class, along with Mikaela Cormier (Belchertown, Mass.) who claimed fifth place in the novice class.
