MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State western equestrian team wrapped up their regular riding season Sunday, hosting a double show at their indoor riding arena, finishing with reserve and high point team honors, respectively.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- In the morning show, the Mustangs claimed class wins across seven rides, including one from Mikaela Cormier (Belchertown, Mass.) who took home the blue ribbon ride in reining. Her first place finish and second in the open western horsemanship class earned her high point rider accolades for the show.
- Dual novice riders Katelyn Bonarringo (Raynham, Mass.) and Kathryn Hayden (Horseheads, N.Y.) earned top rides in their respective sections, before advanced rider Elyse Scott (Averill Park, N.Y.) claimed the top spot in the advanced horsemanship class.
- It was a Mustang sweep in the intermediate II class, with Veronika Alinskas (Westford, Mass.) and Ashly Marshall (Moravia, N.Y.) each collecting wins.
- In the afternoon, Morrisville State dominated the riding arena, claiming high point team honors for a sixth time on the season.
- Cormier repeated as high point rider behind her blue ribbon ride in the open western horsemanship class and second place finish in reining.
- Hayden rode to the top of the novice class for a second time on the day, topping the field of eight for the blue ribbon.
- Lea Inhaber-Courchesne (Westborough, Mass.) collected the win in the advanced western horsemanship class.
- Alinskas posted her second win of the day in the intermediate II class, riding to the top of the field of seven.
- Kendalle Serra (Boonville, N.Y.) was the top rider for the Mustangs in the intermediate I class.
- Bethany Carlson (Canastota, N.Y.) rounded out team competition with a winning ride in the beginner western horsemanship class.
WHAT'S NEXT:
- Morrisville State will serve as the host site for the Zone 2, Region 3 Regional Championships held Sunday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at the western riding arena.
