Morrisville State hunt seat team turns in reserve high point show

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team collected 43 team points Saturday to earn reserve high point team honors at their own show at the Fearon Road riding arena.

Skidmore claimed the show win, registering 49 team riding points for high point honors. Hartwick finished in third with 34 points.

Morrisville State had eight riders turn in top rides in their respective classes, including Morgan Wilsberg (Mattituck, N.Y.) who claimed the win in the open equitation over fences class.

Heather Perry (Goshen, N.Y.) also turned in a blue ribbon ride for the Mustangs, collecting the win in the novice equitation on the flat class, while teammate Olivia Nygard (Shrub Oak, N.Y.) claimed top honors in the novice equitation over fences and novice flat class.

Taylor Armstrong (Oneida, N.Y.) and Abigail VanWinkle (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) each posted blue ribbon rides in the advanced walk trot canter class, while teammates Ashley Pigg (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Kailyn Guthro (Mannsville, N.Y.) finished top of their sections in the walk trot class.

Morrisville State also had six riders finish second overall in their respective classes, including Karen Rizzone (Eden, N.Y.) who qualified for regionals with her second place finish in the beginner walk trot canter class.
