Morrisville State reserve high point team for second straight hunt seat show

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College hunt seat team collected reserve high point team honors for the second time in as many days at their own Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) event Sunday at the Fearon Road riding arena in Morrisville.

The Mustangs edged Hartwick by a point to claim reserve honors, earning 33 points, while Skidmore collected high point team accolades with 49 points.

The Mustangs turned in three top of the class rides, including Alexis Carpenter (Edmeston, N.Y.) who topped her section of the novice equitation class for the blue ribbon.

Abigail VanWinkle (Hoenoye Falls, N.Y.) took home her second blue ribbon across the weekend in the advanced walk trot canter class, while teammate Kailyn Guthro (Mannsville, N.Y.) also repeated her Saturday win with another on Sunday in the walk trot class.

Morrisville State had five second place rides, including Morgan Wilsberg (Mattituck, N.Y.) who placed second in the open equitation on the flat and over fences classes.

The Mustangs returns to the riding arena Saturday, Nov. 14, traveling to Skidmore College.
