Morrisville State hunt seat third at Skidmore IHSA show   

 

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Visiting Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian finished third overall Saturday in team competition, compiling 33 team points, as they competed in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) competition held at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs.

Skidmore was high point team for the show with 44 points, followed by Colgate who claimed reserve high point team accolades.

Morrisville State had five take home winning rides Saturday, including Marcus Livermore (Syracuse, N.Y.) who won the blue ribbon in the intermediate equitation on the flat class.

Abigail VanWinkle (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) also topped her class in the novice flat class, while teammate Jennifer Capone (Old Bridge, N.J.) added a blue ribbon ride in the novice over fences class.

Phoebe Leger (New Paltz, N.Y.) claimed top honors in the open equitation on the flat class, with Shannon O'Brien-Goode (Liverpool, N.Y.) rounding out winning rides for the Mustangs with her first place finish in the advanced walk trot canter class.

Morrisville State returns to the riding arena in February, traveling to Skidmore College on the 17th.
