Gara crowned Zone Champion; Livermore advances to IHSA National Finals  

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Hunt seat equestrian riders, Kerry Gara (Albany, N.Y.) and Marcus Livermore (Syracuse, N.Y.), each rode their way to a spot in the National Championship Finals following their rides at the Zone Championships Saturday, with Gara taking home the Zone Title in her respective class.

Gara topped the field of 10 in the advanced walk trot canter class to earn a spot in the national finals, while teammate Livermore, rode to a fourth place finish in the intermediate equitation over fences class and second place ride in the intermediate equitation on the flat class.

Livermore advances to nationals in the intermediate flat class and will be making his second straight appearance after garnering the national title in the novice over fences class a year ago.

The IHSA National Championship competition will take place May 2nd – 5th at the New York State Fairground Expo Center in Syracuse, N.Y. The full schedule of events can be found here.
