MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Empire 8 Athletic Conference announced its President's List for the Fall 2017 semester, recognizing four from Morrisville State's football team for their contributions on the field and excellence in the classroom.

Three freshmen and a junior earned the academic accolade, including Shalome Clarke (Valley Stream, N.Y.), Brendon Levac (Rodman, N.Y.), Jacob Lyon (Fairfield, N.Y.) and Rob Heitzmann, IV (Oriskany, N.Y.); who combined for an average 3.868 GPA following the Fall semester.

Levac and Lyon are two-time recipients of this honor, also earning recognition after the fall term.

The conference office named 816 student-athletes from the league's nine full-time and nine affiliate member institutions to its President's List. Recipients must earn a minimum 3.75 grade point average while participating in a conference-sponsored sport. The conference states, "it's commitment to serve the educational needs of its student-athletes is the hallmark of the Empire 8."

"I am very proud of how these four young men performed academically in the spring 2018 semester," said Mustang head coach Curt Fitzpatrick.

"Their academic achievements represent the hard work, dedication, and discipline that it takes to be a top-notch college student-athlete. In addition, these four reflect our growing academic achievements as a program as well."

"I enjoy coaching young men like Shalome, Rob, Brendon, and Jacob – they make my job easy and fun. I'm excited to see their contributions to our program this fall."
