Edmond named Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week  

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State senior running back, Nick Edmond (Blythe, Calif.) has been named the Empire 8 Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 23 following his performance in the Mustangs home opener Friday night.

Edmond led all ball carriers in the 34-26 win over St. Lawrence University Friday on Drake Field in Morrisville, boosting the Mustangs record to 2-1 as he collected 137-yards on 26 carries for two touchdowns in the contest. His scores came at distances of 11- and 6-yards each.

Edmond also added one reception for 11 yards on his night tallies, averaging 5.3 yards per rushing attempt.

The senior is currently third overall in the conference in rushing, averaging 86.0 yards per game.

A graduate of Paoloverde Valley High, Edmond is majoring in business administration at SUNY Morrisville. He is the son of Regina Edmond of Blythe, California.
