Edmond selected to play in 4th annual FCS National Bowl Sunday  

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State College senior running back, Nick Edmond (Blythe, Calif.) will get one more chance to represent the Mustangs Sunday, as he was selected to play in the FCS National Bowl, taking place at 12:30 p.m. at Daytona Beach, Florida.

The FCS National Bowl is an annual post-season college football all-star game consisting of the top players from college football FCS schools. Select Division III players are invited to complete for either the American or National Teams, in front of numerous NFL and CFL Scouts.

Edmond has been selected for the National Team, and will be coached by Mike Stock, former special teams coach for the Green Bay Packers.

The senior wrapped up his second straight year of 1000+ yards rushing for the Mustangs, appearing in 11 games and averaging 92.4 yards per rushing. Across his career he collected 2402 total yards, accounted for 25 touchdowns in the running game, while adding another 205 yards in receiving. He also threw for 261 yards through the air for three additional scores, and was a two-time Empire 8 All-Conference selection.

"I am proud of Nick and all that he has accomplished here as a Mustang," said head coach Curt Fitzpatrick.

"His toughness and leadership will continue to make and impact on our program for years to come.  Through hard work and dedication, he has earned this opportunity to showcase his skills on a national stage against some of the best players in the country."
