Three earn Empire 8 President’s List Accolades  

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Empire 8 Athletic Conference announced its President's List for the Fall 2018 semester Thursday, recognizing three from Morrisville State's football team for their contributions on the field and excellence in the classroom.

Sophomore defensive lineman Jacob Lyon (Fairfield, N.Y.) earns the honor for the second time, while fellow teammates sophomore offensive lineman Rodolfo Pablo (Jackson Heights, N.Y.) and senior linebacker John Shirley (Sandy Creek, N.Y.) also were recognized with the accolade, combining for an average 3.87 grade point average during the fall semester.

The conference named 817 student-athletes from the league's nine full-time and 10 affiliate member institutions to its President's List. Recipients must earn a minimum 3.75 grade point average while participating in a conference-sponsored sport. The conference states, "it's commitment to serve the educational needs of its student-athletes is the hallmark of the Empire 8."
