Morrisville Shut Out in Opener, Fall 7-0 to William Smith

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The young Mustangs took to the field for their 2016 campaign in a tough road match-up against the William Smith Herons, but found themselves on the wrong side of a lop-sided 7-0 score.

The Herons came out quick, notching two goals in 40 seconds beginning at the 6:50 mark in the game.  However, Morrisville tightened up their defense and did not allow another goal in the first half until the 21 minute mark.

The score would remain 3-0 in favor of the Herons until they once again rattled off two quick goals in the 47th minute.  Ten minutes later, William Smith shut the door with another two-goal spurt.

Meredith Koziol (Waterford, N.Y.) suffered the loss in the cage for the Mustangs.

Morrisville returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Castleton State for a 4:45 PM matchup against the Spartans.
