Red Dragons Hand Mustangs a 3-1 SUNYAC Loss

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State Field Hockey team fell 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon in a SUNYAC matchup against the visiting Red Dragons from Oneonta State.

The visiting Red Dragons pounded the Mustangs' defense, recording 27 overall shots in the game.  However, they were unable to score, leading to a 0-0 score at the end of the first half.

One minute into action in the second half, Oneonta broke through when back and forth passing off of a penalty corner allowed Carissa Warren to find a seam in the Mustangs' defense to get her shot off.  The goal was Warren's first of the season and it was assisted by Sierra Palmatier.

Morrisville evened the score in the 52nd minute when Giovanna Lisi (Marathon, N.Y.) scored off of Emily Hunt's (Harpursville, N.Y.) initial shot which hit the post.

Two more goals by the Red Dragons put the Mustangs' comeback hopes out of reach as the score ended 3-1 in favor of Oneonta.
