Three Goal Second Half Pushes Union Past Mustangs 4-0

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State Field Hockey team fell 3-2 to Union on the road on Wednesday night due to a big second half by the hosts.

Union dominated the contest from start to finish, outshooting the Mustangs 16-2 in the first half alone.  Morrisville was also blanked when it came to penalty corner attempts as Union produced 21 on the evening.

Despite Union's dominance, they were unable to produce a goal as Emma Gottung (Caroga Lake, N.Y.) denied all shots on goal until the 25th minute of action.  At the 25:54 mark, Union's persistence paid off for the 1-0 advantage.

The second half was much of the same as Union produced 22 shots to the Mustangs' four.  Unlike the first half though, Union was able to convert on more of their attempts, producing three more goals for the 4-0 victory.

Morrisville will wrap up their season on the road on Saturday as they take on Houghton College at 2 PM.
