Morrisville State releases 2018 field hockey schedule  

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State athletics released its 2018 field hockey schedule, a full line-up that features 17 contests, nine opponents that will meet the Mustangs on Drake Field this fall.

The Mustangs will begin the 2018 slate on Friday, Aug. 31st under direction of first year head coach Jennifer Koller against non-conference Nazareth, before hitting the road for the first travel trip of the year on Sept. 2nd at Castleton.

Morrisville State will have an outing up North against the Saints of St. Lawrence University on the 5th, returning home for three straight, including an outing against Union on the 12th.

State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action will begin on Saturday the 22nd as Morrisville State hosts SUNY Geneseo at noon, followed by a second SUNYAC bout against Oneonta on the 26th. The Mustangs wrap up September's action with a conference trip to New Paltz on the 29th.

October is a heavy competition month for the Mustangs, featuring 10 total contests, resuming action on the 3rd at Keuka for a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) battle, before returning down the thruway on the 5th to visit SUNYAC rival Brockport.

Newcomer Cazenovia College rolls into the Mustang Valley on the 9th, followed by Cortland on the 12th, before Morrisville State takes the show on the road for two straight, the 13th at Elmira, followed by the 17th at Oswego.

Morrisville State will round out their regular season schedule with three of the final four games on Drake Field, starting with Hartwick on the 19th, followed by Wells on the 20th. They head to Houghton on the 26th for the final road contest of the season, before wrapping up the 2018 regular season slate against Sage on their home turf on the 31st.

Morrisville State went 5-12 a year ago, capturing the NEAC regular season title with an undefeated 4-0 record.
