Dueber named NEAC Defensive Player of the Week for second time  

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its weekly award winners in the sport of field hockey, naming Morrisville State freshman goalkeeper Morgan Dueber (Owego, N.Y.) the Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 30.

Dueber put forward a collegiate best effort over the course of the week, averaging 22.5 saves in cage despite two losses. She began the week with 16 saves in the loss to Oneonta, recording a .800 save percentage.

On Saturday she faced 36 shots, of which she turned away 29 for a .806 save percentage, the most a goalkeeper has recorded since before the 2011 season.

The freshman is a graduate of Owego Free Academy and is majoring in journalism and communication for online media at SUNY Morrisville. She is the daughter of Tina and Eric Dueber of Owego.

This is the second time Deuber has been selected for the weekly honor.
