Mustangs dominate second half, cruise to 105-62 win over Penn St. Berks

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Host Morrisville State men's basketball used a 17-3 run midway through the second half to widen the gap and didn't look back as they cruised to a 105-62 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win over visiting Penn St. Berks Sunday afternoon in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Eleven different Morrisville State players contributed to the conference win Sunday with five netting double figures.
  • The Mustangs proved too strong for the visitors in the second half, doubling up the Nittany Lions 59-25 after leading 46-37 at the half.
  • Brison Hall (Syracuse, N.Y.) led Morrisville State with 19 points, adding six rebounds and three steals while fellow forward Kevin Dennis (Bronx, N.Y.) contributed 18 to go along with 11 rebounds for the double-double.
  • Tyrin Miller (White Plains, N.Y.) collected 15 points and dished out four assists, with Derek Beames (Otego, N.Y.) chipping in 12 additional points, nearly missing the double-double with nine rebounds.
  • Lamel Faison (Brooklyn, N.Y.) rounded out the leaderboard with 11 points, adding five assists.
  • Morrisville State dominated the glass, outgaining the Nittany Lions 52-31 in rebounds, while adding 32 points in second chance opportunities.
  • The Mustangs led by as many as 43 in the second half, and had a huge game in their bench play, with six contributing to the win. Jared D'Aloia (Stillwater, N.Y.) and Remington Hickey (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) each added eight.

  • Morrisville State enters the final week of the regular season, traveling to nearby Route 20 Rival Cazenovia on Wednesday. Tip is scheduled for 8 p.m. in Cazenovia.
