Morrisville State men’s hockey falter on road to Oswego

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men's hockey team dropped a 5-1 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) decision Friday night to host Oswego State in Oswego.

The loss is the fourth straight for the Mustangs, who drop to 1-6 on the year.

Oswego (2-3-1, 2-3-1 SUNYAC) started the night with two straight tallies, the first seven minutes in before posting their second just two minutes later.

Morrisville State's lone score came in the first period on a power play as Danny Liscio (Woodbridge, Ontario) buried the feed from Darren Young (Woodstock, Ontario) to cut the Oswego lead to one after the first period.

The Lakers added two more scores in the second to extend the lead to three, before adding their final in the third to capture the conference win.

Andrew Barton had the hat trick for the hosts.

CJ Sharp (Markham, Ontario) posted the loss despite a 37 save effort before being relieved by Steven Dombrosky (Elizabethtown, Pa.) who turned away seven in the final nine minutes of play.

Morrisville State returns to the ice tomorrow, hosting the Lakers at 7 p.m. on the Mustangs home ice.
