Men’s Ice Hockey Gets Shut Out Against Oswego St.

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Mustangs returned to Morrisville on Saturday night, to host Oswego State in the second game of their away and home SUNYAC series.  Morrisville looked to rebound after a 5-1 loss, but ultimately fell to the visiting Lakers 4-0.

After a scoreless first period, it looked like all Morrisville needed to get back into the win column was a little time on their home ice.  Unfortunately, Oswego's Kenny Neil got his team on the board first, four minutes into the second period.  The Lakers picked up a power play goal with just over four minutes remaining in the middle period for a 2-0 lead.

The Mustangs encountered their best chance of the night to get back into the game when Oswego's JJ Hart drew a five minute major interference penalty.  Despite several Morrisville shots, the Lakers ultimately ended up killing the penalty.

After the successful Laker penalty kill, Oswego put the Mustangs away for good with two goals late in the third period for the 4-0 win.

Morrisville will take a hiatus from SUNYAC play and travel to Neumann University outside of Philadelphia for a Friday/Saturday non-conference series on November 27 and 28.  Start time for Friday is 7 PM while Saturday will start at 4 PM.
