Morrisville Men Fall 4-2 in Season Finale at Cortland

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Mustangs Men's Ice Hockey team saw a first period slip away, falling to Cortland State in their 2015-2016 season finale, 4-2.

After an overtime win by the Red Dragons in Morrisville last night, Cortland came out strong on their home ice, notching an early first period goal by Tommy Nolan.

Morrisville responded just over a minute later when Danny Liscio (Woodbridge, Ontario) found the back of the net to even the score at one goal apiece. Ian Wood (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Brett Johnson (Bronxville, N.Y.) provided the assists.

Eight minutes later, the Mustangs took the lead on a power play goal by Jordan Carvalho (Brampton, Ontario).  Darren Young (Woodstock, Ontario) and Tyler Lepore (London, Ontario) picked up the assists.

The score would remain 2-1 in favor of the Mustangs until late in the second period when Andrew McCann scored a power play goal for Cortland bringing the score to 2 all.  Unfortunately for the Mustangs, the Red Dragons would score twice in the third to put the game out of reach.

Morrisville ended the 2015-2016 season with a 1-14-1 SUNYAC record, and a 5-17-2 record overall.
