Morrisville Can’t Withstand Wildcats Offense, Fall 5-2 in Non-Conference Road Matchup

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State Men's Ice Hockey team struggled to find an answer for the potent offense of Johnson and Wales, falling in the non-conference road contest, 5-2.

After a scoreless opening period, it was the Mustangs who scored first, when Jordan Carvalho (Brampton, Ontario) found the back of the net on a breakaway, 38 seconds into the second period.  CJ Stubbs (Pleasant Grove, Vt.) and Joseph Santino (Woodbridge, Ontario) assisted on the goal.

However, the Wildcats tallied five unanswered goals between the 6:42 mark in the second period and the 16:20 mark in the third period to put Morrisville on their heels.

Nick DeVito (Averill Park, N.Y.) put Morrisville back on the board at the 17:05 mark in the third off of a pass from Ryan Bochert (Denver, Colo.) to make the score 5-2, but it was too little too late as the Mustangs ran out of time to mount a comeback.

The Mustangs will need to regroup quickly as they return home tomorrow afternoon to take on Neumann at 4 PM.
