MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State men's hockey team was back on the ice Friday night in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action against visiting SUNY Cortland, and picked up their first win as they powered past the Red Dragons 4-0 in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Morrisville State posted the first tally of the contest at the 11:01 mark of the first period as defenseman Daniel Golba (Buffalo, N.Y.) followed up the initial shot by Jesse Anderson (Wasaga Beach, ON) and flicked it over the stick side of Cortland netminder Nick Modica for the tally.
- Jorgen Johnson (Waterford, Mich.) turned away 14 Cortland shots in the first frame alone, as the visitors held the 14-13 advantage in shots after one.
- Johnson added 20 additional saves in the second period to keep the visitors off the board, maintaining the edge for the hosts.
- Morrisville State added muscle in the third, overpowering the visitors as they struck three times, once on the power play as Nick DeVito (Averill Park, N.Y.) tipped in the loose pick at the 12:50 mark for the tally.
- Ryan Bochert (Denver, Colo.) added his first tally of the season minutes later as he put home the wrist score off the feed from Ian Wood (Pittsburgh, Pa.).
- Jimmy Philbin (Chicago, Ill.) added the fourth and final Mustang score in the final minute of the contest, one-timing the cross from the right from Bochert.
- Johnson collected the shut out victory with a total 38 stops in net, picking up his first collegiate win.
- Morrisville State killed off four Cortland power play opportunities, while netting 1-of-3 of their own.
- Nick Modica had 34 stops for the Red Dragons in net, recording the loss as Cortland dropped to 2-3.

- Morrisville State will host Cortland for a second time tomorrow night at 7 p.m. on the Mustangs home ice.
