Morrisville State men roll to 16-3 victory over Wells

AURORA, N.Y. – Visiting Morrisville State College men's lacrosse rolled to a decisive 16-3 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Monday afternoon over host Wells College in Aurora, using a combined 12 goal first and fourth quarters to collect the win.

The decision is the sixth straight victory for the Mustangs, who improve to 7-5 overall, 6-0 within the NEAC.

Nine different Morrisville State players registered goals on the day, including junior John Sherlock (Tully, N.Y.) who scored four and added three assists for seven points. Andrew Donoghue (Rochester, N.Y.) and Brad Biggs (Tully, N.Y.) each added two goals and two assists.

Chris Fiore (Staten Island, N.Y.) registered the win between the pipes, posting one save in two quarters of action before being relieved by Daniel Sherlock (Tully, N.Y.) in the second half. Sherlock made three stops for the Mustangs.

Morrisville State led 8-2 after the first half of action and didn't look back in the second, posting the final eight scores of the contest to capture the decisive victory.

The Mustangs return to the field Wednesday, traveling to SUNY Cobleskill for a 4 p.m. NEAC face-off with the Fighting Tigers.
