COBLESKILL, N.Y. – Ten different Morrisville State College men's lacrosse players registered goals Wednesday afternoon as they ran wild over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) host SUNY Cobleskill to collect the 21-3 victory in Cobleskill.
Morrisville State improves to 8-5 overall with the win, and remain untouched in conference play at 7-0. Cobleskill dropped to 3-10, 1-6 in the NEAC.
The Mustangs had three register hat-tricks on the day, including freshman Adam Sawitsky (Pine Bush, N.Y.) who led the way with four goals. William Hamm (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and Tom Rosaschi (East Syracuse, N.Y.) each posted three while four different Morrisville State players each tallied two goals.
John Sherlock (Tully, N.Y.) contributed two goals and five assists to the win.
Junior goalkeeper Chris Fiore (Staten Island, N.Y.) registered five saves in 39 minutes of action to post the win between the pipes, before being relieved by Daniel Sherlock (Tully, N.Y.) for the final 21 minutes. Sherlock had three saves and allowed three Cobleskill goals.
Morrisville State jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the opening quarter and didn't look back as they built up a 16-0 advantage by the break.
They added five additional scores, all four in the third quarter, before Cobleskill was able to get one on the board in the fourth.
Morrisville State returns to the field Saturday, traveling to Bryn Athyn College for their final NEAC matchup of the regular season.
