Morrisville State men bow out of NCAA Tournament, fall in second round to York College

YORK, PA – Morrisville State College men's lacrosse concluded their 2017 season Wednesday afternoon in the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, falling to sixth nationally ranked York College by a 12-1 final in York.

The Mustangs finish with a 10-6 season campaign, making their third straight appearance in the tournament, after claiming their third consecutive North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) crown.

Sophomore Nick Geswaldo (Lafayette, N.Y.) posted the Mustangs lone score of the day, a tally that came at the 6:39 mark of the fourth quarter.

Senior Tyler Catalfano (Rochester, N.Y.) made 11 stops in the loss between the pipes, as the Morrisville State defense put up a strong front as York maintained possession throughout the contest.

York held the 39-27 advantage in shots across the afternoon, and outgained the Mustangs 26-14 in ground balls, 11 of which came in wins at the center X (13-for-17).

The Spartans advance to play the winner of Lynchburg and Sewanee, Saturday, May 13.
