MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State men's lacrosse team notched seven unanswered goals in the third quarter fueled by a hat trick from sophomore Zach Wilsey (Chittenango, N.Y.), as they posted the come-from-behind North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win over visiting SUNY Polytechnic Wednesday afternoon on Drake Field in Morrisville for a 12-10 decision.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Morrisville State opened with a quick tally just 41 seconds into the contest as junior attackman Chris Dovi (Cortland, N.Y.) notched one of his game total five goals on the unassisted effort.
- Poly, though, wasted no time in responding, netting two straight off the stick of Ryan Mead to claim a 2-1 early lead.
- Morrisville was unable to break through the defense until 48 seconds remaining in the opening quarter when senior Peter Pina (Culver City, Calif.) collected two straight, sending the game into the second frame with a 3-2 host advantage.
- Poly regained the lead with unassisted tallies from Mead and Jacob Elliott, 4-3, but a second strike from Dovi evened the contest at four midway through.
- Mead added his fourth of the first half with 1:45 to go before the break, giving the Wildcats a 5-4 lead at the half.
- A quick strike from Shane Wyman early in the third found Poly with a 6-4 advantage for the next three minutes, before sophomore Zach Wilsey (Chittenango, N.Y.) came off the bench and found a hole to notch his first of the season, bringing the Mustangs within one.
- Dovi posted back-to-back scores within a minutes time, regaining the lead for the Mustangs after trailing for more than 23 minutes prior, but Poly would add an equalizer 20 seconds later on a Daniel Cuddihy diving score.
- Morrisville State proved lethal in the closing 2:39 of the quarter, netting four unanswered tallies for a frame total seven, to carry the 11-7 lead into the final quarter.
- Wilsey kicked off the four goal streak with a snipe off the feed from Zach Palin (Lafayette, N.Y.), before adding another a minute later off the dish from Joseph Rosaschi (Syracuse, N.Y.).
- Ten seconds later, Rosaschi found Nick Geswaldo (Lafayette, N.Y.) for the diving score off the face-off win by Shawn Walberger (Fulton, N.Y.), before Nick Smith (Cortland, N.Y.) collected his first Mustang score with 54 ticks to go in the quarter for the four goal lead.
- Poly's Rhett Stauffer made it a three goal game with 12:53 to go, but Dovi answered with his fifth of the afternoon as he rolled the crease to regain the four goal cushion for the Mustangs.
- Jacob Elliott and Cuddihy added two midway through, but that's as close as the Wildcats could get as the Morrisville State defense, backstopped by senior goalkeeper Nico Cejic (Johnson City, N.Y.) held Poly scoreless for the remaining six minutes of the contest.
- Cejic turned away nine in the win in net, adding three ground ball pickups to his tallies.
- Walberger was 14-for-25 at the center x, picking up a team high seven ground balls to assist Morrisville State in the 43-26 advantage in the battle on the ground.
- Morrisville State held the slight 39-34 advantage in shots on the day, battling a great effort by Poly goalkeeper Charles Rosaschi, who turned away 12, including six in the final quarter of action.
