Morrisville State post second straight win in convincing fashion over Wells  

 

AURORA, N.Y. – The Morrisville State men's lacrosse team picked up their second straight win Saturday afternoon as they topped host Wells College by a 25-4 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) final in Aurora.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Morrisville State had 11 contribute scores Saturday afternoon as they dominated host Wells College for a 25-4 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action.
  • Nick Geswaldo (Lafayette, N.Y.) led all scorers with six goals, adding an assist, while fellow attackman Joseph Rosaschi (Syracuse, N.Y.) added seven points behind his five tallies and two assists.
  • Chris Dovi (Cortland, N.Y.) and Geoffrey Field (Glen Cove, N.Y.) added three apiece, Dovi assisting a team high four others.
  • Shawn Walberger (Fulton, N.Y.) won 25-of-30 starts from the center X, collecting a total 19 of the Mustangs 46 ground balls. Morrisville State outgained Wells 46-20 in the battle on the turf.
  • Morrisville State controlled 26-of-32 total face-offs across the game, and outshot Wells 54-21.
  • Niko Cejic (Johnson City, N.Y.) collected the win in net, saving five across the 60 minutes of action.
  • Morrisville State opened up a 6-1 lead after the opening quarter and added seven additional scores in the second for a commanding 13-2 advantage at the break.
  • Wells, who mustered a score in each quarter, had a hard time controlling the Mustang offense, who also took advantage of extra man opportunities netting five goals on nine attempts.

  • Morrisville State will host Cazenovia College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in a Route 20 Rival showdown on Drake Field in Morrisville.
