MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men's soccer team battled back from a one goal deficit at the half to even the score early in the second, and after a scoreless 54 minutes, collected the 1-1 draw with North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent SUNY Cobleskill Tuesday afternoon in Morrisville.

The tie lands Morrisville State with a 4-2-1 conference record, 5-8-1 overall in its home finale, while Cobleskill heads home 4-8-2, 2-3-1 in NEAC action.

Aboubacar Konate notched his fifth goal of the season in the 30th minute of the opening period, driving home the one-timer from the center of the box off the Moussa Bamba feed past Mustang keeper Cody Gaines (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.).

That lead held the 56:20 mark, when the Mustangs Kossi Philippe Nodjo (New York City, N.Y.) rifled the ball into the back of the net off the rebound from an initial Julian Rodriguez (Bronx, N.Y.) shot. Rodriguez served the ball from the far side of the field where it deflected off the hands of Cobleskill keeper Sam Sherbacow and to the foot of a waiting and open Nodjo, evening the contest at one.

Cobleskill had an opportunity late in the contest to go put one away, but Gaines made a huge stop with under nine minutes to go to force the extra time.

Gaines made a stop in the first overtime period, to force another, and again came up huge for the Mustangs as Cobleskill had the opportunity to put the game away in the 106th minute, but was stopped short by the senior goalkeeper.

Gaines finished with six saves in the one goal draw. Sherbacow registered three for Cobleskill.

Morrisville State returns to the field Saturday, traveling to Wilson College.
