Morrisville State men suffer heartbreaking loss on late score in Lancaster   

 

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Morrisville State College men's soccer program dropped a heartbreaking 1-0 loss Sunday afternoon to host Lancaster Bible College, as the Chargers posted the lone score of the contest late in the game for the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win.

The loss drops the Mustangs to 6-9-1 on the year, 5-3-1 in NEAC play.

Lancaster improves to 8-8-2, 5-2-1 in conference action.

Cody Gaines (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) recorded three saves on the day, but it was the one that snuck through in the 74th minute that proved to be the deciding factor as Ivan Correa netted the 24-yard free kick inside the right of the goal for the host win.

Morrisville State returns to the field Wednesday, traveling to SUNY Polytechnic for a 5 p.m. NEAC cross town battle on the Wildcats home turf.
