Hakizimana, Sparkowski named to NEAC All-Conference team

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2018 Men's Soccer All-Conference teams, naming Morrisville State's Toyi Hakizimana (Rochester, N.Y.) and Daniel Sparkowski (East Meadow, N.Y.) to its first and second team, respectively.

Hakizimana came in as a highly touted attacking player.  After a few games the adjustment was made to move him to a defensive midfielder role, where he would be more impactful for the Mustangs group this year, and he took the change in stride.

On the season the freshman collected three goals and four assists for 10 total points, netting two game winners over Cazenovia and Wells College, and posting two assists in a single match against Cobleskill.

Sparkowski started all but one game this season, and throughout the year was the anchor of the Mustangs back line. The sophomore is a natural leader that organized a very young group around him this season to finish third in conference standings and return to the conference tournament.

Sparkowski posted one goal on the season, the game tying score in a critical matchup against Cobleskill.

The captain is a NEAC Scholar-Athlete and led Morrisville State back to the NEAC Championship Tournament quarterfinal round for a second straight season.
