WILLIAMSPORT, P.A. – The Morrisville State softball team dropped two North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contests, falling to host Penn College of Technology on Sunday afternoon. The Wildcats of Penn College improve to 3-3 in NEAC play, while the Mustangs 0-4.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Ciera Sprague (Elmira, NY), Paige Williams (Machias, NY) and Meleena Mortimer (Canandaigua, NY) all contributed to Morrisville's three total hits in game one, with Sprague doubling to right field in the third, and Mortimer slapping a triple to right field in the fourth.
- Chyne Kennedy (Southwold, Ontario) threw the loss for the Mustangs, pitching all 4.0 innings, allowing ten runs, six earned, on nine hits and striking out two.
- Kennedy led Morrisville in game two with one hit on two at-bats, and two RBI's. In the first inning, she had a sacrifice fly to score Spague to give the Mustangs an early 1-0 lead. In the top of the third, she grounded out to shortstop, scoring Sprague again, evening the score at 2-2.
- The Wildcats would score five more runs before the Mustangs were able to cross home plate again. Savannah Hobbie (South Kortright, NY) put one last run on the board for Morrisville in the sixth, scoring after Emily Vesely (Johnson City, NY) reached first on a fielder's choice.
- Kellina Murphy (Yonkers, NY) threw the loss on the mound in game two, allowing seven earned runs on ten hits and striking out one.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Mustangs will host Route 20 rival, Cazenovia College on Wednesday for a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) double header. Games are scheduled to start at 3:00pm and 5:00pm, pending weather conditions.
