Falcons Shut Out Mustangs in Non-Conference Series Finale

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State Women's Ice Hockey team blasted 41 shots against the Falcons from Concordia-Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon, but could not find the back of the net, falling 1-0.

The Mustangs controlled the action from start to finish on Saturday afternoon, out shooting their opponents 41-24, including having a 15-4 advantage in the third.  However, a breakaway goal by the Falcons' Chloe Bachman at 4:35 in the second was all Concordia-Wisconsin needed to walk away with the shutout victory.

Both teams struggled to convert on their power play opportunities.  The Falcons went 0 for 4 for the game, while the Mustangs were 0 for 7.

Concordia's Breanna Thomson recorded 41 saves, while Morrisville's Karoline Arvik (Trondheim, Norway) tallied 23 saves.

The Mustangs will continue with their mid-season non-conference schedule, as they take on Franklin and Pierce at home on Friday and Saturday, December 1 and 2.  Puck is set to drop at 7 PM on Friday, with a 2 PM start on Saturday.
