Ravens Overwhelm Mustangs 4-1 in Non-Conference Series Finale

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State Women's Ice Hockey team suffered their third loss of the season on Saturday afternoon falling 4-1 in non-conference action to the Franklin Pierce Ravens.

The Ravens picked up the one goal lead on a rebound at the 8:42 mark in the first period.  However, the Mustangs responded late in the first period to even the score.  Maria deWilde (Caistorville, Ont.) picked up a pass from Ciara Lark (Mildmay, Ont.) on the far side of the boards at mid-ice and drove her way to the Ravens' net for the breakaway goal.  Kimberly Hughes (Lloydminster, Alta.) also assisted on the goal.

Franklin Pierce found another gear in the second period, outshooting the Mustangs 10-3.  The Ravens put themselves up for good mid-way through the second on Haley Parker's second goal of the game.

The Ravens extended their lead to 3-1 at 11:13 in the third and capped off their scoring with an empty netter at 19:45 for the 4-1 victory.

The Mustangs will hit the road on Saturday, December 9 for their final game of 2017 as they take on local rival, Utica College at 2 PM.
