MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) announced its players of the week for play through Sunday, October 28, naming Morrisville State women's hockey junior Jessica Ujcik (Munich, Germany) the Player of the Week, with fellow teammate Maddison Devlin (Campbell River, BC) earning honorable mention accolades.
Ujcik led Morrisville State to a series sweep of Castleton on opening weekend, netting five goals and three assists for eight points. She began the season with a four point outing in a 6-1 win on Friday night, collecting two goals and two assists for four points, while finishing +3 on the ice and netting two power play scores.
Ujcik followed with the hat trick in Saturday's 5-1 win, netting three goals and assisting another, while finishing +5 in play on the ice. One of her tallies was a power play goal and game winning score.
Devlin had just as hot of a stick on the weekend, netting four goals and two assists for six points. On Friday she opened the season with a hat trick, finishing with three goals in the 6-1 win, with one of her tallies coming on the power play for a +3 on-ice rating.
She added to her totals Saturday with a goal and two assists for three more points, her second tally coming on the power play, while collecting the goal on her lone shot of the contest. She also had a +3 on ice rating to finish the weekend with a total +6, two power play goals and four scores on seven shots.
Morrisville State opens conference play Friday, traveling to Nichols College for a 3:40 p.m. faceoff.
