MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Mustangs and the Knights battled back and forth through the first two periods, but a three goal outburst by Morrisville's offense propelled them to a 7-3 non-conference win on Saturday afternoon.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Morrisville started their scoring off early, with Mackenzie Lombardi (Hamilton, Ont.) finding the back of the net one minute and seventeen seconds into the contest. Line mates Maddison Devlin (Campbell River, B.C.) and Maria deWilde (Caistorville, Ont.) assisted on the opening goal.
- Neumann evened the score at the 5:07 mark, but the Mustangs' Kaitlyn Schlake (Nampa, Idaho) put the visitors back into the lead just over two minutes later as the senior executed on a critical power play opportunity.
- The lead would be short lived for Morrisville with the Knights tying the contest at the 12:22 mark in the first.
- Lombardi tallied her second goal of the game at the 16:56 mark to give the Mustangs the 3-2 lead going into the first intermission.
- The Knights rallied again in the second, knotting the game up once again at the 11:08 mark.
- However, Lombardi's third strike of the game put the Mustangs up for good at the 12:32 mark.
- Morrisville retained their one goal advantage into the first part of the third period, but a three-goal offensive explosion from the Mustangs put the game out of reach. Devlin, Alexziz Giannamore (Pittsburgh, Pa.), and Kylie Cameron (Burlington, Ont.) posted the third period goals.
- Lacey Friesen (Marquette, Man.) recorded 18 saves in the win.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Mustangs will return home next weekend as they host Colonial Hockey Conference foe, SUNY Canton. Friday's game is scheduled for a 4 PM puck drop, while Saturday's contest is slated to begin at 1 PM.
