BEVERLY, Mass. – The Morrisville State Women's Ice Hockey team squared off for the third year in a row against the Gulls from Endicott College with the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) Championship on the line. Despite stellar goalie play by Karoline Arvik (Trondheim, Norway) and a stingy defense, the Mustangs were ultimately stunned by the Gulls in overtime, suffering the 1-0 loss on the road.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Endicott dominated control of the puck early, testing Morrisville's net minder, Karoline Arvik (Trondheim, Norway) early and often, putting 15 shots on goal. Arvik proved to be up to the task, stopping every shot to keep the game scoreless through the first twenty minutes of play.
- The second period would prove to be much of the same for both squads as Endicott continued to put more shots on goal than Morrisville.
- Both the Mustangs and the Gulls would get power play opportunities in the period, however both squads were able to execute their penalty kill.
- Endicott entered the third on the power play due to a late second period penalty on the Mustangs, but Morrisville would once again kill the penalty.
- Morrisville turned up the pace in the third, gaining an edge on the Gulls in shots 10-8, but the Mustangs were unable to find the back of the net as Endicott's Vendela Jonsson proved up to the task.
- History was destined to repeat itself in this matchup as time expired and the championship game would head into overtime for the second straight year and the third time in the four CHC championship games.
- Endicott turned the tables on the Mustangs in the overtime period, returning to their puck dominance of the first and second periods. Morrisville's Maddison Devlin (Campbell River, B.C.) broke free around the seven minute mark for a breakaway shot, but Jonsson came up with a huge save to swing the momentum back to the Gulls.
- After an icing call on Morrisville at the 10:51 mark, Endicott would win the ensuing faceoff allowing for Maeve Moynihan to rip a shot into Morrisville traffic in front of the crease. The initial shot would be blocked, but the Gulls' Jillian Gibbs followed up the long rebound with the game winning strike to stun the Mustangs in overtime.
- Arvik would end the game with 51 saves for the Mustangs between the pipes. For her efforts, she was also named to the CHC Championship All-Tournament team along with Mackenzie Lombardi (Hamilton, Ont.).
