Morrisville State struggles in spring break outing against Muhlenberg  

 

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Morrisville State College women's lacrosse team dropped its second straight game Monday afternoon, as they fell to Muhlenberg College by a 17-5 final in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

The Mustangs, who are on a spring break training trip in Hilton Head, were outgained from the get go, falling behind 9-2 at the half, as Muhlenberg outshot Morrisville State 18-8.

Three posted tallies for Morrisville State, including senior Gianna Branca (Camillus, N.Y.) who collected two goals, one in each half of action, while assisting another.

Courtney Cavellier (Rodman, N.Y.) and Celia Abbott (Shortsville, N.Y.) also posted scores, Cavellier with two, and Abbot the final tally of the contest for the Mustangs on a free position shot.

Sara Gelster (Hamburg, N.Y.) recorded the loss, making nine stops in net for Morrisville State.

The Mustangs return to the field tomorrow, playing Kenyon College at 10 a.m. in Hilton Head.
