Cavellier snags NEAC Player of the Week honors  

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office announced its athletes of the week in the sport of women's lacrosse, naming Morrisville State junior attack Courtney Cavellier (Rodman, N.Y.) the conference's Player of the Week for the week ending April 1.

Cavellier led Morrisville State to a 17-11 non-conference victory over visiting Fredonia last Tuesday, netting a combined seven points behind five goals and two assists, for the Mustangs second straight win.

In the contest, Cavellier netted five scores on five shots, and added to her tallies five ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers.

Just eight games into the season, the junior leads the Mustangs in scoring with 29 goals, as well as the conference, and is tied for third in the league with 31 total points.

A graduate of South Jefferson High, Cavellier is majoring in natural resources conservation at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Marsha and Lonnie Cavellier of Rodman.
