Cavellier repeats as NEAC Player of the Week  

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office announced its players of the week Monday, naming Morrisville State junior attack, Courtney Cavellier (Rodman, N.Y.) the Women's Lacrosse Player of the week for a second straight time, for the week ending April 8.

Cavellier contributed to the Mustangs 3-0 week, and led Morrisville State to an undefeated week within conference play behind her week's total 12 points.

Cavellier began the week with two goals in an 8-7 decision over non-league SUNY Canton, adding four ground balls, four draw control wins and four caused turnovers to her tallies. She followed with a five point outing in the shutout against Hilbert, netting two goals and assisting three others, while adding four more ground balls, six draws and a caused turnover to her tallies.

The junior wrapped up her week with five tallies in the 12-6 win over Medaille to keep the Mustangs undefeated within conference play, adding five ground balls, four draw control wins and six caused turnovers.

On the week she averaged four points per game, four ground balls, 4.7 draw control wins, and 3.6 caused turnovers per game, while shooting 50% from the field and 77.8% on goal.

A graduate of South Jefferson High, Cavellier is majoring in natural resources conservation at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Marsha and Lonnie Cavellier of Rodman.
