Details announced for 2019 NEAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament held at SUNY Morrisville  

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State will serve as the host site for the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament, after the Mustangs claimed their second straight conference regular season title with an undefeated 9-0 slate to earn the right to host.

Semifinal action is scheduled to open on Saturday, May 4 at 11:30 a.m. as the Morrisville State Mustangs take on fifth seeded Cazenovia College on Drake Field.

Cazenovia advanced to the semifinal round after defeating Wells College 14-13 in overtime in Tuesday's opening round in Aurora.

The Wildcats have collected six wins straight since meeting the Mustangs back on April 14, where they suffered a 15-7 loss in the regular season.

Morrisville State has posted an 11-1 overall slate since mid-March, and will look to defend the title they gained a year ago on their home turf.

The second semifinal is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Drake Field and will feature second seeded Keuka College against third seeded SUNY Poly.

The Wildcats advanced to the semifinal round after defeating sixth seeded Medaille College 19-12 in Utica in Tuesday's opening round of the NEAC tourney.

Keuka won the regular season meeting between the two squads on April 20 by a 16-11 final score. The Wolves enter the semifinals with an overall 14-1 record, posting an 8-1 NEAC slate, with the lone loss coming at the hands of the Mustangs.

For those attending the event, parking will be available in the lot behind the stadium facility. Tickets for the contest are available at the gate 30 minutes prior to the opening face-off.

Admission is $4 per adult, $2 per student and children 12 and under are admitted free. Visitors are asked to abide by the college's tailgating policy, located under visitor information on the athletic web site.

The winners of the semi's will advance to the NEAC Championship final that will take place Sunday at 1 p.m. on Drake Field in Morrisville to vie for the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
