MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College women's soccer team battled back to even the score at one midway through the second half, but were unable to tally another as they settled for a 1-1 overtime draw with host Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vermont.
The tie leaves the Mustangs with a 2-2-1 overall record as they head into the weekend hosting a double North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) tilt.
Ashley Capron (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) posted the lone Morrisville State score at the 66:28 mark as she collected the loose ball on the left side and beat the defense to net the equalizer.
Morrisville State had four chances in the two overtime periods, but couldn't capitalize as they settled for the non-conference tie.
Brianna Sorriento (Wynantskill, N.Y.) registered the tie, making one stop in 95 minutes of play before being relieved by Brooke Terrier (Hubbardsville, N.Y.) for the final 15. Terrier also had one save on the day.
Morrisville State returns to the pitch Saturday, hosting Lancaster Bible College at noon.
