Morrisville State women blanked by Lancaster Bible

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College women's soccer team allowed two straight scores within three minutes Saturday afternoon as they dropped a 2-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) decision to visiting Lancaster Bible College on Drake Field in Morrisville.

The loss drops the Mustangs to 2-3-1 overall, 1-2-0 in NEAC action, while the Chargers improve to 3-2-0, 2-1 in conference play.

Both teams played to a scoreless first half before Lancaster Bible was able to break through in the 55th minute. A costly foul by the Mustangs brought an attacking player down in the box where Raegan Horst converted the penalty kick for the 1-0 visitor lead.

Within minutes, Lancaster Bible extended the lead to two, nailing the strike from 25 yards out off the foot of Michaela Ragsdale.

Morrisville State had a few chances down the stretch, but couldn't capitalize as the Chargers picked up the win.

Brianna Sorriento (Wynantskill, N.Y.) registered six saves in the loss in net for the Mustangs, three in the second half.

Kaitlyn Scheuing picked up three saves in the win for Lancaster.

Morrisville State returns to the field tomorrow, hosting reigning NEAC Champion Penn St. Berks at noon on Drake Field.
