Morrisville State women shut out on road at Penn College

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Morrisville State College women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) final to host Penn College of Technology Sunday early afternoon, falling to 2-6-1 on the season and 1-5 in conference play.

The Wildcats remain undefeated in conference action at 6-0, while upping their overall record to 7-4-1 to date on the year.

Penn College came out firing on all cylinders, notching the first tally just six minutes into the contest as Alexis Trkula connected with Tiffany Brown for the early 1-0 lead. Brown finished the day with two goals.

Nearly 10 minutes later, Trkula collected her second assist, feeding Hailee Hartman who got around Morrisville State goalkeeper Brianna Sorriento (Wynantskill, N.Y.) for the 2-0 host lead.

Penn College added another midway through the opening half for the commanding three goal lead at the break, and capped off their scoring in the 56th minute for the 4-0 conference victory.

Sorriento finished with four saves on the day.

Morrisville State returns to the field Saturday, hosting Penn St. Abington in a noon kickoff.
